• Details:  This set of two vintage Royal Crown / Arnart bird figurines featuring red-crowned cranes.  Crafted by artist Jonathon Byron, and signed by the artist.  Detailed and expertly-painted with unique style and character, these pieces are perfect for adding a classic touch to any living space.  Although J. Byron is best known for his Americana Bird Collection, he also created wonderful porcelain images of other, more exotic birds.  Both pieces are signed by the artist, but one is stamped "Royal Crown", which is a brand owned by Arnart, (mostly used on Japan imports), while the other is stamped "España" which is obviously a product from Spain. We know Arnart is an importer, most likely importing from different suppliers.  And we know Jonathon Byron worked for several porcelain companies, so it is likely that these, although both original designs by Byron, came from different countries. Red Crowned Cranes are known to mate for life, they symbolize fidelity in marriage, good luck, long life and love, we like the idea of a set of two.  There is a condition issue, please see Condition below for details.
• Materials:  Porcelain
• Dimensions:  Taller Crane: 7.5 inches Tall   Shorter Crane: 7.0 inches Tall.  Both are 5.0 inches Long (at base) and 3.75 inches Wide
• Condition:  Vintage-Used.  Very Good Vintage Condition. There is a minor chip on a grass blade.  Both cranes showing paint-loss on the red crowns.  Both photographed for your review.  These pieces are hand-painted and could be retouched for a perfect look.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  All Sales Final.  Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear  and imperfections.   

Arnart Imports Inc., is still in operation (as of this writing) and is currently located at 230 Fifth Avenue, New York. The company specializes in porcelain gifts and decorative accessories. First registered trade mark is the Crown and A’s mark registered April 30, 1953.  However, we have read that in 1957 they changed their name to "5th Avenue" after securing US based offices, and stopped using a printed stamp 'made in Japan' mark, opting instead for a removable 'made in Japan' stickers.  The Royal Crown mark was registered for use on animal and bird figures 1965 - 1987.
